Heat Pump

Heat pumps have grown in popularity over the years and are the choice of many home and business owners. Heat Pumps work differently than traditional furnaces. True to the name, heat pumps gather small amounts of heat and pump that heat into a collector which then heats or cools your home or office. The professionals at Elite Heating and Air will be happy to explain how a heat pump may be right for your needs.

In Omaha and surrounding communities, OPPD offers a special energy credit for heat pump owners.

One major difference between traditional furnaces with air conditioning compressors and heat pumps is that heat pumps gather the heat from outside to heat the inside in winter then reverse in summer to gather heat from inside and send it outside. More about heat pumps here. With the change of seasons, every heating and air conditioning system requires maintenance and inspection. Ask your friends at Elite Heating and Air about an annual maintenance agreement.

Even heat pumps have a back-up heating and cooling function to compensate for extreme temperatures. In winter, a heating coil is available for emergency heat and that feature is often marked on the thermostat. Likewise, in summer, a cooling coil is often used to boost the cooling ability of the heat pump.
